Who said play was only for the weekend? For TEDxPiscataquaRiver, we're transforming the gallery space at 3S Artspace into a Tech Playground, offering several experiences on the cutting edge of technology — TiltBrush, 3D 360 video and 3D printing!

TEDx attendees can enjoy the Tech Playground throughout the day on Friday, May 6th, and it will be open to the public for our TEDxPiscataquaRiver After Party, from 4:30pm – 7:00pm.

Tilt Brush

We're thrilled to announce that local company Game Assembly is bringing a demo of Tilt Brush to TEDxPiscatauqaRiver!

Developed by Google for the HTC Vive, which is not yet released in the US.

What exactly IS Tilt Brush? It's pretty hard to explain, so here's a video from Google that shows what the experience is like:

Part Virtual Reality (VR) and part Augmented Reality (AR), "Tilt Brush lets you paint in 3D space with virtual reality. Unleash your creativity with three-dimensional brush strokes, stars, light, and even fire. Your room is your canvas. Your palette is your imagination. The possibilities are endless."

3D 360 Video

Locally-based EmotiveVR will be showcasing innovative technologies that our guests can get their hands on at this week's TEDx event.

A virtual reality content production company, EmotiveVR creates 360-degree, 3D, immersive video content for a variety of industries and clients.

EmotiveVR has developed an innovative capture and workflow process for 3D 360 VR content. This is unique in that most 360 video content is only 2D. The 3D 360 video content shot with a unique custom camera setup is as close to reality as any technology out there. On Friday, TEDx attendees will be able to visit Tuscany, soar over the Grand Canyon, or get a glimpse into the life of the creator’s granddaughter--all while sitting in our Tech Playground at 3S Artspace.

3D Printing

And our own Portsmouth Public Library has brought their 3D printer. Watch the 3D printer in action and learn about their 3D printing service, available to all with a library card! You can even charge your phone with power generated by your own energy at the Portsmouth Public Library pedal powered charger!

They'll also have books by TEDx speakers and some popular titles available for checkout.

TEDx attendees are encouraged to visit and play with the TiltBrush and 3D 360 Video equipment throughout the day on May 6.

The equipment will also be available for play during the post-event reception and after party (open to the public) 4:30 - 7:00pm.

Prepare for your upcoming experience with technology — adventure awaits!
