Visual Artist — On the Edge

Are you a Seacoast area visual artist interested in helping tell stories of your community members at TEDxPiscataquaRiver?
This year’s theme, “On the Edge”, will include stories of people in our own community who are on the edge — of survival, of community, of power — and are collected from community and regional organizations who assist low-income populations, people overcoming addictions, survivors of sexual assault and people living and working with disabilities.
TEDxPiscataquaRiver is interesting in pairing these stories with a visual statement/interpretation from Seacoast area artists. Pieces can range in medium, size and style, but should lend themselves to be moved and functionally exhibited at the conference on May 6 at 3S.
Artists interested in mentoring young student artsists from the community will be paired with a student and will be invited to attend TEDxPiscataquaRiver.
Stories will be available by April 2, 2016 and pieces should be completed by May 2, 2016. Interested artists should complete the application below.

What kind of art do you make?
Please tell us why you'd like to involved with TEDxPiscataquaRiver and our On the Edge project.
We will have completed On the Edge stories by April 2nd and will be able to provide them. We will need the completed artwork by May 2nd. Submission means you give permission to display them at the event, and to be photographed for sharing online alongside the stories. If we videotape the On the Edge segment, your work may also be displayed on the TEDxTalks YouTube channel. We will need a release form signed from you if that is the case.
If interested, you will be contacted by our mentorship partnership to be connected with a young artist. You may collaborate on a piece of artwork together or create separate pieces.
